A 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Nachinola by hanging himself, police informed.
According to police the man who originally hails from Bicholim was alone at his rented house as his wife and children had gone to the in-laws' place on account of a family wedding.
The incident came to light on Sunday afternoon after one of his colleagues had gone to visit him at his residence.
Since he was not responding to the door-bell, the colleague and the neighbours went around the house to take a look when they saw the man hanging in his room from one of the windows. Mapusa fire personnel rushed to the site and retrieved the body.
Mapusa Police conducted the panchanama and preserved the body at the North Goa district hospital. A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police.
