One held for gold chain snatching at PDA Colony

Porvorim Police have arrested one accused person for committing chain snatching in PDA Colony, Porvorim.

As per SP North Rahul Gupta a complaint was lodged by one lady informing that on July 24 evening,  an unknown person came on a scooter outside her house at PDA colony and informed that he has a parcel in her name. When the complainant went to inquire, the said person snatched her gold chain worth Rs 1.80 lakh and fled from the scene.

Based on the complaint Porvorim Police collected CCTV footages and other evidences from technical surveillance and zeroed in on the suspect who was found staying in a guest house in Calangute.

The accused person has been identified as Kishorbhai Mohanbhai Macchi, aged 44 from Navsari, Gujarat.

The scooter used by the accused person has also been recovered by the police. Accused is arrested under section 304 of BNS, 2023.

The investigation team was supervised by SDPO Porvorim Vishwesh Karpe and was led by Police Inspector  Rahul Parab and consisted of Police Sub Inspector  Sitaram Malik, PSI Mandar Parab, Constables Nitesh Gaude, Mahadev Naik, Akash Navelkar and others.Further investigation is in progress with PSI Arun Shirodkar .
