Newly elected State BJP President Damu Naik on Wednesday extended an open invitation to leaders from Congress and other parties to join the ruling party, provided they align with its ideology and adhere to its principles.
Naik also emphasised that the BJP would not tolerate any form of high-handed behaviour from new entrants. He clarified that anyone joining the party must do so unconditionally, without expecting rewards or election tickets.
"The doors are open for leaders who believe in the BJP's ideology and are committed to working for the party. However, they should not have any demands or expectations, especially concerning election tickets,” Naik stated in response to questions from journalists.
Naik was attending the Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan programme held at the BJP North Goa District office in Mapusa. Speaking further, Naik assured that the BJP would protect its loyal party workers and would not allow any disrespect toward them from incoming members.
"We welcome anyone ready to join the party unconditionally, but loyalty and respect for our core workers are non-negotiable," he said.
Outlining his vision for the BJP, Naik revealed that his primary focus is to strengthen the organisation and prepare for the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
"We are gearing up for the 2027 polls, aiming for a victory of 27 seats in 2027. The key objective is to build a stronger organisation," he remarked.
Naik’s remarks come as the BJP sets its sights on consolidating its base and expanding its reach ahead of the next electoral battle.
