Welcoming the Supreme Court judgement upholding the High Court order on ward reservations, opposition parties gunned for Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and slammed the government’s attempt to violate the Constitution and derail democracy.
“Supreme court has refused to interfere with judgment of HC. Truth prevailed. This is victory of Democracy and Constitution,” said GPCC President Girish Chodankar while reacting to the judgment.
He also demanded that the state government should also cancel elections in other Municipalities such as Valpoi and Pernem where he alleged that the reservations are not as per the constitution.
