Residents pointed out that while other nearby localities continue to receive regular water supply, Palewada remains severely affected. Many families are now forced to depend on private water tankers, paying high charges without any assurance of timely delivery.
The situation has worsened due to the erratic and inconsistent water supply in the area. Deputy Sarpanch Divkar Jadav questioned why Palewada alone is being neglected and warned that residents will intensify their protest if immediate steps are not taken to restore regular supply.
Pernem taluka largely depends on the Chandel water plant for its supply. However, low water pressure in certain areas has made daily life difficult for residents. Due to unreliable supply from the project, some households rely on wells and borewells, while others without such options are left completely dependent on piped water.
Villagers have urged the government to take immediate notice of the issue and ensure a consistent and reliable water supply.
