MARGAO
Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday claimed that a partner of the Birch pub has not been named in the FIR registered by the police against the owners and partners.
He dared the government to deny his claim, saying he is ready to prove his claims with evidence that an influential partner of the company has not been named in the FIR.
When the media drew his attention that so many restaurants and pubs are being illegally run along the state coastal belt, Sardesai said these activities are being run by top BJP leaders. He claimed that a brother in law of a top BJP Goa leader is allegedly involved in running a dance bar. “This shows who is running these pubs and dance bars in the state”, he said, adding a request should be made to the BJP government to come out with a Mhaje Pub scheme to legalize all illegal pubs and dance bars on the lines of the Mhaje Ghar scheme.
“I have credible information there is another partner of the Birch pub, who has not been named in the FIR. Let the government say I am speaking lies if it has the guts. I am ready to produce the documents to prove my claim”, he said, adding that the FIR does not mention the name of this partner since he has links with the ruling establishment.
