Pedestrian killed as motorcycle hits him near Dabolim junction

A pedestrian was killed in a road mishap near Dabolim junction on Monday evening. 

Vasco Police Inspector Kapil Nayak said the incident occurred at 7.30 pm when the accused, Sonu Ranvijay Prasad Sai (26) rode his motorcycle in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Dabolim Airport side towards Verna along with a pillion rider. Both are residents of Nuvem.

“When they reached near the traffic signal Dabolim junction, the motorcycle struck a Nepali pedestrian Liladwaj Khadka (35), a security watchman, who was crossing the road towards Croma Showroom at Dabolim,” said PI Nayak.

“The pedestrian, rider and pillion rider of the motorcycle fell down on the road. The pedestrian succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim. In this connection, an offence was registered at Vasco under Sections 279, 304-A 1PC. The accused is yet to be arrested," said PI Nayak.

PSI Rohan Nageshkar is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of DySP Rajesh Kumar.
