Pernem police arrest Maha man in temple burglary

The Pernem police have arrested a man from Kankavli-Maharashtra in connection with a burglary at the Ravalnath Panchayatan Temple in Virnoda-Pernem.

According to Pernem police, the committee of Ravalnath Panchayatan Temple had filed a complaint of a burglary in the temple on June 13.

A Pernem police visited the temple and pressed a police dog squad and fingerprint expert into service.

Investigations revealed that the accused had entered from a small window passage from the rear side of the temple and had stolen cash of about Rs 3,000 from the donation box.

PI Jivba Dalvi said different teams were formed to trace the accused and they sought the assistance of locals. The accused, Mithun Pawar (25) of Kankavli-Maharashtra but residing at Naibag-Pernem, was arrested in this connection and during interrogation, reportedly confessed having committing the theft. Pernem Police have recovered the stolen cash.
