PONDA
The Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) on Thursday decided to remove the scrap vehicles which are parked by the roadsides in Ponda town.
The Council took this decision during its meeting which was chaired by PMC Chairperson Ritesh Naik and attended by Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik, PMC Chief Officer Yogiraj Gosavi, PMC Vice-Chairperson Deepa Kolvekar and other councillors.
There are about 22 vehicles in scrap condition parked on the roadside, which have been creating a nuisance to traffic. Notices will be sent to owners of these vehicles and if they do not respond, the PMC will remove these vehicles.
Chairperson Ritesh Naik informed that hotmixing of the road would be completed before starting a pay-parking bay near the Ponda police station.
Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik said he has initiated steps to solve the issue of stray dogs and stray cattle. While stray dogs will be housed at a location in Curti, a Goshala will be constructed at Nirankal.
