Police seek to verify driver's claim that steering wheel got locked

MARGAO

The Cuncolim police have written a letter to the Transport department to ascertain the cause of the road accident at Balli involving a Bal Rath bus on Thursday morning.

Though the driver has claimed that the bus severed off the road and plunged into a trench after the steering wheel reportedly got locked, Cuncolim police station in-charge, PI Diego Gracias said the police have written to the RTO to verify the claims made by the driver since it is a technical issue. “Let the technical agency verify the claim  made by the bus driver that the steering wheel reportedly got locked. The police is not a technical agency to verify the claims. Hence, we have written to the transport department to verify the claim”, PI Gracias added.
