Even as the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative got over on August 15, the national flags continued to fly high at many places including houses, commercial establishments, vehicles, etc.
The initiative was for the benefit of the public who were allowed to hoist the Indian flags as part of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' for three days i.e. from August 13 to 15.
However, the flags were seen flying high even on Tuesday as the many people seemed to be unaware that the initiative was restricted only for three days.
When asked about the same, Union Minister Shripad Naik called upon people to remove the flags after lowering down in proper manner from their houses or establishments, and store the flag after folding it properly.
“The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative is over and people should remove the flags after lowering it down with respect,” Naik stated and added that the flag should be folded in such a way that the Ashok Chakra doesn't get folded.
