P'yat minister urges youth to contribute to nation building

Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Monday appealed to the youth to come forward and contribute towards nation building.
Godinho was speaking as chief guest at the 75th Independence Day celebrations organised by the deputy collector and sub-divisional magistrate Mormugao at Tilak Maidan in Vasco.
"The country is marching ahead and in this era of social media craze, the young generation must come forward and contribute to nation building. While we can extract good information from social media, we must not become slaves to mobile phones and get into negativity.”
“The country has given us freedom at the cost of various sacrifices by freedom fighters and we must not abuse the freedom for creating negativity against institutions. Use your talent for nation building and help the country grow.”
“The government is responsible for improving the quality of life by bringing in good infrastructure and good institutions and we can serve by acquiring and spreading knowledge through these institutions and not fall prey to negative aspects on social media," said Godinho.
Godinho called upon the youth to resolve to do something for the country.
“The youth must vow to become well-known and respected citizens in all fields and there is no substitute for hard work.”
“We are trying to help the youth with good education facility and bring in Foreign universities with tie up, to take education to the next level because a good education is the only way out to achieve our goals," said Godinho.
