In a recent update, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant provided details about the ongoing land acquisition process for National Highway 66.
Sawant reported that the process of acquiring land for National Highway 66 is currently underway. In some areas, land has already been acquired, and work to upgrade the existing road is either complete or in progress. In other areas, the land acquisition is still in different stages of completion.
In the Quepem Constituency, the land acquisition process is still at an early stage. The precise amount of land that will be acquired in this area will only be known once the final notification under the Land Acquisition Act (L.A. Act) is issued.
The development of the highway will affect various residential houses, structures, and trees along its route. Detailed site plans, which include information about the properties and landowners affected, will be available only after the final notification under the L.A. Act is issued.
For the Ballito area in Canacona, detailed site plans and information about affected landowners, survey numbers, and areas of land acquired will also be provided only after the land acquisition process is completed.
Overall, while significant progress has been made in acquiring land for National Highway 66, detailed information about specific properties and the full impact of the project will be updated only once the final steps of the acquisition process are complete.
