Stating that he would have the Porvorim PWD Assistant Engineer Deepak Borkar transferred, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar assured that water would be released to both constituencies of Porvorim and Saligao within 12 hours.
After holding discussions with PWD engineers, Pauskar told media persons at the site that the contractor entrusted with the work to repair the 1,000 mm water pipeline along the highway near Kharaswaddo-Mapusa could not finish job within 36 hours and hence, the PWD could not supply water to Povorim and Saligao constituencies.

“As desired by Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte and the people, PWD Assistant Engineer Deepak Borkar will be transferred out of the Porvorim PWD office.”
“Regarding the filing of a criminal complaint against the contractor who has delayed repair work of the 1,000 mm pipline at Kharaswaddo,I will investigate the matter and decide on action to be taken against the contractor,” said Pauskar.
The PWD minister also stated that work of the 15 MLD water treatment plant at Porvorim is nearing completion.
“Efforts are being made to release 5 MLD water to residents of Porvorim in the first week of May,” he said.
