Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday said the rates fixed by the State government for the conversion of land will have to be paid post-facto, and there was no question of deviating from that position.
"Mistakes happen. Orders have been issued for necessary action. But there is no question of deviating from the rates fixed by the government," Rane said.
The minister was interacting with the media on the sidelines of the 'Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao' event held at Cabo Raj Bhavan's 'Durbar Hall' when a media person asked him to react to the directions issued to the government by the High Court in a PIL to specify steps taken to recover a deficit fee of over Rs 7 crore from beneficiaries of land conversion due to TCP department officials undervaluing the assessment order for fees.
“Orders have already been issued. The department had kept it for discussion with CREDAI and GCCI. The payments will be as per the rates fixed. There is no issue,” Rane said.
