In order to provide film screening facilities to film enthusiasts of South Goa, Ravindra Bhavan Margao has upgraded their conference hall for the purpose of film screening with 7.2 sound.
Chairman Rajendra Talak informed the media that Ravindra Bhavan Margao Film Club has received accreditation from the Federation of Film societies of western region and that members will now be able to watch films.
He further mentioned that interested film lovers can contact RBM office or send a mail on [email protected] for further details. Talak further informed about the plan to organise a five-day film festival.
The upgraded hall was inaugurated at the hands of MLA Digambar Kamat and ex-chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Damu Naik.
On the occasion, Digambar Kamat said, that Ravindra Bhavan was started in 2008 and it was a dream to make it a centre for Art and Culture in South Goa. “Just building an infrastructure is not enough, it has to be lively and he was happy to see Ravindra Bhavan becoming a vibrant place with the art enthusiasts visiting this place frequently.
He also informed that he has already forwarded a letter to ESG, recommended by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to start the process of upgradation of Ravindra Bhavan, Pai Tiatrist Hall and include the institution as one of the centres for International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for screening films during IFFI.
Ex Chairman Damu naik expressed his satisfaction over regular activities at Ravindra Bhavan Margao and congratulated its entire team. He also suggested to screen Article 370 film for public as the first film in the newly renovated conference hall.
