Ready for debate on Nov 17, but Cabral yet to acknowledge: AAP on power tariff

PANAJI
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed surprise that Power Minister Nilesh Cabral has not yet responded to their party accepting his challenge for an open debate on the power scenario in Delhi and Goa after AAP had announced that its MLA Raghav Chadha would be coming to Goa to discuss the matter with the minister.

Incidentally, Raghav Chadha, who is a chartered accountant is the vice chairperson of Delhi Jal Board and the youngest spokesperson of AAP and he is willing to discuss the power tariff policy of Delhi with Power Minister Nilesh Cabral.

It may be recalled that Nilesh Cabral while briefing media persons had claimed that the power tariff in Goa was cheaper than Delhi and had offered to sponsor the flight tickets of any AAP representative to come to Goa to discuss the tariff.

AAP immediately accepted the challenge and said the vice chairperson of Delhi Jal Board would be coming to Goa on November 17, to discuss the matter and asked the Goa minister to name the time and venue for the debate.

However, Cabral has not yet responded to AAP challenge.

“It appears that he has developed cold feet and is not willing to be exposed in public for the misinformation that he has been dishing out to the people of Goa all along,” AAP stated.

“Failure to participate in a public debate with AAP representative will be interpreted as Power Minister Nilesh Cabral not being able to prove his charges and admission that residents of Delhi get power bills that are cheaper than Goa,” added AAP in the press note.
