The Revolutionary Goans (RG), which is contesting elections on the symbol of Goa Suraj Party, announced its second list of nine candidates on Monday.Announcing the list at a news conference, RG chief Manoj Parab said the candidates are Bento D’Silva (Navelim), Degli Fernandes (Velim), Shailesh Naik (Shiroda), Ajay Kholkar (St Cruz), Premanand Gaude (Madkai), Anish Naik (Bicholim), Rohan Kalangutkar (Saligao), Prashant Pagui (Canacona) and Sujay Mhapsekar ( Pernem).
Last week, the RG had announced 9 candidates for Nuvem, Curchorem, Curtorim, Cuncolim, St Andre, Priol, Mandrem, Mayem and Calangute constituencies.
“The criteria for selecting candidates is the will for work for the betterment of Goa, besides being passionate, dedicated and truthful. Revolutionary Goans will give clean, new, non-corrupt, non-criminal background candidates and work with people for at least two years,” he said adding, “The RG process of selecting candidates is to promote people who are working for the State.”
Parab said unlike other candidates, the Revolutionary Goans candidates would go door-to-door to meet the people.
When asked about representation to women, Parab said there would be few women in the next set of 22 candidates.
“Already, one woman is in the list of candidates. A majority of 22 candidates are to be declared and I promise that women candidates will be there in the next list,” said Parab.
