OLD GOA
Revolutionary Goans Party supremo Manoj Parab along with its leaders Ajay Kholkar, Licio Roncon and others visited the site at Morombi-O-Pequeno where massive destruction has taken place.
Later speaking to reporters, Parab slammed various government departments like the Forest Department, Environment Department, TCP Department and Revenue Department, the St Cruz MLA and Merces panchayat among others for turning a blind eye to such illegal activities.
“This area is hardly a few hundred meters away from the Smart City and nobody seems to be bothered about such activity taking place,” Parab opined and questioned whether the authorities, ministers concerned, the MLA, local panchayat authorities are hand in gloves in promoting such activities.
“The Revolutionary Goans Party is not going to keep quiet in the matter and will petition all authorities, ministers concerned for strict action in the matter. The issue would also be raised by our MLA in the forthcoming Assembly,” Parab stated.
He further called upon the Goans not to keep quiet and raise their voices against such activities as it would prove to be a disaster in the further since this is a low lying eco-sensitive zone and if not protected, flooding would be experienced in the future.
