A 55-year-old scooter rider from Galliwada-Usgao has been seriously injured in a road mishap on the national highway at Curti.
According to police, Vasudev Jalmi was proceeding from Ponda towards Usgao on his scooter and on reaching Kurti, took a right turn to go back to Ponda when his scooter was hit by a car from behind.
Jalmi was admitted to the Sub District Hospital at Ponda in a 108 ambulance. Since he sustained serious head injuries he was later referred to Goa Medical College at Bambolim for further treatment.
Ponda police have registered a case against the car driver, Ravichand Koda, from Zuarinagar-Mormugao.
