Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has underscored the need for Goa to diversify its economic bouquet and reduce the rising dependency on Tourism.
“There is a need to reduce dependence on tourism and diversify the economic base,” Sawant said while addressing a conclave of representatives from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector of industry.
Sawant said only by diversifying Goa’s economic activity can the goal of ‘Swayampurna’ (self-sufficient) Goa and through it ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ can be realised.
The chief minister urged the MSME sector to take advantage of the schemes and incentives which are launched by his government and also those of the Centre to contribute to their own growth and also that of the State.
He reiterated his government’s commitment to improve Goa’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ situation even as he stressed that the State has already put in motion several programmes to benefit the MSME sector in Goa.
