A government scheme to fund big ticket cultural events organised by educational and also cultural institutions in the State has been extended up to March 2022.
The notification issued by Director of Art and Culture Sagun Velip states that the scheme will come into force and extend up to March 31, 2022.
In a series of notifications, Velip has also extended up to March 2022 several other schemes providing for "special grants" for long term projects in the field of Art and Culture.
In another notification, Velip extended the "Kalakar Kritadnyata Nidhi” which provides grants to individual artistes and also the “D D Kosambi Research Fellowship Scheme”.
Government sources said the schemes have been re-notified and extended up to March 2022 in a bid to channelise the funds which will be received from the Centre as a special grant to celebrate the 60th year of Goa's Liberation from Portuguese rule.
