SEC to declare, Civic, CCP poll schedule: CM

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said elections to the 11 municipal bodies and the Corporation of the City of Panaji will be held simultaneously and it is for the State Election Commission to announce the schedule.

While the elections for the 11 municipal councils are already overdue with their terms having ended earlier this year, the CCP's term ends in early March.

Earlier this year, the State government had appointed bureaucrats as administrators for the civic bodies and deferred holding elections due to the pandemic.
