Several areas were flooded in Sattari following heavy rains on Monday.
Due to continuous downpour, water entered houses in areas like Vaddeo Nagar, Honda Tisk, Gaonkarwada and Navnath Mandir area of Honda area. Water also entered the Tisk branch of State Bank of India and the nearby Navnath Temple.
Residents were stranded in their homes for quite some time as water blocked their access.
Traffic was also disrupted after a tree came crashing down at Barajan. A Valpoi fire brigade cleared the tree from the road following a two-hour operation.
Health Minister and Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane and Poriem MLA Deviya Rane were closely monitoring the situation.
They mentioned that if the flood situation worsens, families in some houses would be evacuated and shifted to safer places.
The minister also issued instructions to authorities concerned to take necessary measures to tackle the situation, as well as to survey those houses which were flooded.
