While the accomplice Nigerian who was involved in the international sex trafficking racket has been evading the police, Anjuna Police arrested another Nigerian who has been harbouring the accused in Bengaluru.A team of Anjuna Police has been camping in the garden city to trace Olokpa, a Nigerian who is the third accused in the sex racket and who is absconding.
According to the Mapusa SDPO, Jivba Dalvi, the Goa Police team along with the local police had managed to locate the location of the accused on two occasions, however, on both the occasions he managed to escape before the police reached the spot.
“On both the occasions, one Charles Aihun (32), a Nigerian residing in Bengaluru, was found at both the locations where the absconding accused Olokpa was staying. After verifying the mobile phone of Charles, it was found that he was harbouring and providing information to accused Olokpa on the movement of Goa Police team in Bengaluru,” Dalvi said.
The accused Charles was traced at Bengaluru and later placed under arrest by Anjuna Police under section 370, 370 (A), 370(3), 212 r/w 34 of the IPC and Section 4, 5 & 8 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
He has been remanded to five days police custody and further investigation is in progress.
