Shab-e-barat celebrations cancelled

PANAJI

Association of All Goa Muslim Jamats on Sunday cancelled the celebration of Shab-e-barat across the state in view of the orders issued by District Collector of South and North Goa imposing Section 144 from the midnight of March 27.

The executive committee members of the Association appealed to all the masjid committees, jamats and the entire Muslim community of Goa not to have any celebration of Shab-e-barat in congregations or groups and to strictly observe the restrictions imposed by the authorities for the benefit of the society at large.

It was informed that regular namaz will be offered in accordance with SOPS issued to respective committees to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in religious places.
