In a bid to further tighten the screws on the political parties responsible for defacing government property in the district, South Goa district Collector, Ruchika Katyal, IAS has issued fresh directions to the Director, Urban Development, Panchayat Director as well as the PWD, National Highway to crack a whip against banners and posters erected in government property sans permission.The Managing Director of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation has also been told to remove the political banners and posters put up in the property owned by the department.
In separate letters, the district Collector has told the Director, Urban Development to direct the locals bodies in South Goa coming his direction to jurisdiction to immediately remove all the banners, hoardings/posters/flags etc installed without permissions.
In fact, the Collector has called for a compliance report in this matter to be submitted to the Collectorate within two days.
A similar direction was issued to the Deputy Director of Panchayats, South to get all the Panchayats in its jurisdiction to remove the banners and posters put up without permission and file a compliance report within two days.
The district Collector had on Monday issued directions to officials of the PWD and Power department and the Managing Director of KTC to act immediately against banners and posters put up in their property sans permission.
