OLD GOA
The futsal ground fiasco surrounding St Cruz MLA Rudolf Fernandes took an ugly turn as a portion of the ground was found damaged on Sunday.
When The Goan visited the ground, it was seen that the poles installed on one side of the ground were damaged.
When contacted, MLA Fernandes said that he will soon file a police complaint in this regards.
However, he expressed doubts that the same persons who came on Saturday to stop the work on the ground are responsible for the act.
“On Saturday itself, they were trying to damage the ground and I suspect that they are behind the act,” Fernandes added.
It may be recalled that the locals had objected to the construction of the ground alleging that it was being done without permissions from authorities concerned.
However, MLA Fernandes had stated that there was nothing illegal being done and that the construction work on the futsal ground was being stopped at the behest of a minister.
