State to ink deal with IIFCL for infra development

PANAJI
The State government has decided to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of India owned India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd (IIFCL) for infrastructure projects including financing and project structuring.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant who held a meeting with an IIFCL team led by its Managing Director said: “It is proposed to sign an MoU between Government of Goa and IIFCL shortly. "

Sawant said he discussed with the IIFCL managing director and other top officials matters related to collaboration for infrastructure projects, central sector funding, project structuring and project financing in various developmental sectors.

IIFCL was set up in 2006 and is a wholly-owned Government of India company. Its tasks involve providing long term finance for infrastructure projects which are viable through the Scheme for Financing Viable Infrastructure Projects.
