In a significant step towards enhancing the quality and capabilities of its school faculty, the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) has launched Academic Leadership Programme (ALP), aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to empower its educators with leadership qualities and academic excellence.
DHE said that the ALP aims to cultivate visionary leadership qualities among educators, provide strategic insights for academic excellence, encourage collaborative networking, and equip educators with modern leadership techniques and practices.
As part of ALP, DHE in association with Infosys Springboard is currently undertaking a workshop for its 30 faculty members at the Infosys Mysore Development Centre. The workshop, which commenced on Tuesday, will have topics like design thinking, leadership, effective learner engagement and course and assessment authoring.
“We want to prepare our faculty to take up leadership roles in various educational organizations,” DHE said, adding "Several more workshops will be held in batches at Mysore over the next six months."
Dr Niyan Marchon, Professor, Goa State Higher Education Council, DHE, mentioned that this programme is a transformative step benefiting both participants and students in the field of education. He highlighted how the collaborative platform will provide educators with practical insights, enhancing their teaching methods and, consequently, enriching the learning experience for students.
