The Education Department has issued a circular directing the government primary teachers to display their identity details along with their photographs in their respective schools, to prevent impersonation on campus. The circular issued by Education Director Shailesh Zingde comes in the wake of the Centre’s instructions to the State government to combat the threat of impersonation of teachers in remote schools and ensure effective implementation of the New Education Policy.
“The Prime Minister has suggested that a photograph with identity details of every teacher posted in Government Primary Schools shall be displayed in the respective school. Thus, a vigilant parent/resident can report the matter to the authorities in case a proxy teacher is noticed teaching in school,” he said.
The Assistant District Education Inspectors have been tasked with ensuring adherence to the circular.
