Canacona police booked the inter-state truck driver for parking his truck after a breakdown in an dangerous manner without considering vehicular traffic on National Highway and causing the death of a scooter rider, a 20-year-old youth from Palolem.
Rajkumar s/o Jagram native of Mahendragarh-Haryana was booked under section 125, 106(1) of BNS 2023 and was arrested on Thursday.
Police accused the truck-driver of parking the breakdown truck container bearing registration No HR-47-C-2162 in a dangerous manner while proceeding from Margao towards Canacona. According to police, due to parking of the truck in an endangering manner, the rider of Vespa Scooter bearing registration No. GA-10-B-9461 namely Blesser Gomes, r/o near Chapel Palolem Beach, Pallolem-Canacona who was proceeding from Margao towards Canacona, dashed against the said stationery truck container from back side, and later the rider succumbed to the injuries while he was being shifted from CHC Canacona to District Hospital Margao Goa.
The mishap is further investigated by PSI Vishal Velip, of Canacona Police Station.
According to sources, the container truck which broke down Wednesday evening and was left stranded on the road at Gulem, Canacona, has been removed from the mishap site and shifted to Canacona police station.
