The locals of Undir-Bandora apprised RGP MLA Viresh Borkar of water supply woes faced by them when Borkar along with South Goa candidate Rubert Pereira and other party members visited Undir ward on Tuesday.
The locals informed the MLA that they get water supply in the wee hours, at around 2 am or 3 am, due to which they are forced to wake up in the odd hours just to fill the water.
“Sometimes, for 2-3 days there is no water supply at all,” the locals informed while stating that the well that they relied on for their water needs is also partly occupied by a shipyard company.
“Further, due to sand blasting from the shipyard, the water gets polluted,” a local informed.
MLA Borkar said that he would bring to the notice of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who is also the PWD minister, about the plight of the Undir locals who are facing hardships due to lack of water supply.
