Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has written a letter to Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral on the urgent need to establish a circuit bench of the National Green Tribunal in Goa.In the letter, Reginaldo recalled that he had moved a private member’s resolution in the Legislative Assembly on 26/07/2019 on the issue. Unfortunately, after the debate, the resolution was voted negative at that time. Saying that a High Court bench on September 21 headed by the Chief Justice has recommended the establishment of a NGT circuit bench in Goa, Reginaldo said, “I feel that my long pending demand stands vindicated. Paragraph 57 of the judgment touches upon this aspect and is self-explanatory.”
He reiterated his plea for the establishment of a circuit bench of the National Green Tribunal in Goa, and hope that the needful will be done at the earliest.
