VASCO
Vasco police busted an inter-state drug network with the arrest of its main ganja supplier from Odisha, days after a significant drug haul in Vasco.
The crackdown began on September 18 when police seized 5.34 kgs of ganja and arrested three persons: Dinesh Chauhan (25) of Vaddem, Mormugao; Sapneshwar Gouda (25); and Nilanchal Gouda (21), both natives of Ganjam district, Odisha.
During interrogation, investigators extracted crucial intelligence that pointed to the network’s source.
A special team led by PI Vaibhav Naik of Vasco police station, under the overall supervision of South Goa SP Tikam Singh Verma, was swiftly formed and dispatched to Odisha.
With the coordinated support of Odisha police and advanced surveillance, the team tracked down and arrested the prime accused, Haddu Bhandari, believed to be the key supplier to the network.
Police said further investigation is underway to trace other links.
