Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida chaired a meeting with all councillors of 12 wards in Vasco constituency regarding pre-monsoon works in the port town.
Dy Collector Sachin Desai and Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) and Chief Officer Jayant Tari were also present at the meeting.
"We are lucky there has been no flooding in Vasco. There was a cyclone and heavy rains but there was no flooding anywhere. There have been some gutters which were choked but could be cleared.”
“There is a need to de-silt and clean the main Nullah and to prune trees," said Almeida.
"We will take up works immediately as we elected a new council only a few days ago.”
“As MLA of Vasco, I want to ensure that we should not face flooding due to a delay in pre-monsoon works," Almeida added.
