Trains services at the Vasco railway station are slowly limping back to normalcy.
While efforts are in progress to resume the local Vasco-Kulem train, sources at the Vasco railway station said the Vasco-Patna express is expected to start operating by next week.
When contacted, Vasco railway station Manager Ramdas Gudemane confirmed that the Vasco-Patna train service would begin by next week.
“We have information that the Vasco-Patna train service will start from October 21. The Train 12741 will leave from Vasco on Wednesday. This is a special train and will have regular trips. As of now, there are no normal trains and only special trains are put in service.”
“The Goa Express and Humsafar Express are in operation and the trains are receiving good response, as the situation is improving gradually,” said Gudemane.
He informed that the Humsafar Express will leave from Vasco to Delhi every Friday afternoon at 12.30, while the Patna Express will leave every Wednesday at 7.05 pm and the Goa Express leaves everyday at 3 pm.
“As of now, the request for the Vasco-Kulem local train is being processed but we don’t have any further information on this local train as of now. We, however, feel that the local train may also start sometime soon,” Vasco.
Mishap in Pune: 3 Vasco trains diverted
VASCO: Three Vasco trains have been diverted after a ballast wall fell off a bridge between Bhilwadi and Nandre in the Pune division.
According to a press note by the South Western Railway Office of the Divisional Railway Manager, Public Relations Branch at Hubballi, Train 02779 Vasco-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special commencing journey from Vasco on Friday has been diverted to run via Miraj, Kurduvadi and Daund, skipping stoppages at Sangli, Karad, Satara and Pune.
Train 02780 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Vasco Special which has commenced journey from Hazrat Nizamuddin on Thursday has been diverted to run via Daund, Kurduvadi and Miraj, skipping stoppages at Pune, Satara, Karad and Sangli.
Train 07379 Vasco-Hazrat Nizamuddin Humsafar Special commencing journey from Vasco on Friday has been diverted to run via Miraj, Kurduvadi and Daund,” states the press note.
