The cost of vegetables in Goa has been fluctuating, with some prices decreasing while others seeing a sharp rise.
Onions are currently priced at Rs 60 per kilogram, while tomatoes are available for Rs 40 per kilogram. Green chillies are being sold at Rs 20 to Rs 30 for 250 grams, and potatoes are priced at Rs 40 per kilogram. Carrots have also become expensive, now costing Rs 80 per kilogram.
Other vegetables, such as cabbage, are retailing for Rs 60 per kilogram, and lemons are selling at Rs 50 for 8 units. Meanwhile, both ginger and garlic have experienced significant price hikes, with ginger now priced at Rs 200 per kilogram and garlic ranging from Rs 580 to Rs 600 per kilogram.
The increase in food prices is making it harder for the common man. There is no clear sign of when prices will go down, but it's obvious that the high cost of vegetables is putting pressure on household budgets all over the State.
