Aam Aadmi Party Velim MLA Cruz Silva has said the timing of the Higher Secondary School examination results just before NEET shows insensitivity and incompetence of BJP Goa.
Cruz said it is shocking to note that the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Education decided to declare the results of the important Std XII (HSSC) exam one day before another important exam, i.e. NEET.
“Getting the result of the HSSC exam, would be an important moment for the students who would be answering the NEET. Regardless of whether their performance is very good or very bad or anything in between, it would be a major distraction for the students who may not be in the best frame of mind to answer a seminal exam like NEET.
The exam is a major step for those aspiring to be future doctors, and as such, they need to be able to do their best without any distractions”, he said.
Cruz pointed out that this gaffe by the BJP government in particular the Education department headed by CM Pramod Sawant himself, shows that neither is the Goa government sensitive to the student reality, nor are they competent enough to make such simple decisions.
He said even Prime Minister Narendra Modi postponed his Karnataka campaign rally, as it would have been a disturbance and hindrance to the students answering NEET.
Saying it is a pity that the BJP Govt of Goa did not have the same common sense, Cruz has condemned this insensitivity in the strongest terms, and demanded that the Goa government take into consideration all aspects from a students point of view, before making such important decisions.
