Viegas says AAP has shown way to graft-free governance

PANAJI

The AAP on Sunday slammed South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha for saying that no party can provide corruption-free governance. Speaking to the press AAP Goa VP and Party National Executive Member Captain Venzy Viegas challenged Sardinha to take a trip with him to Delhi so he can learn how Arvind Kejriwal runs a corruption-free govt.
"On Friday South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha had given a statement stating that corruption-free governance was not possible. This seems to be an attempt by the Congress MP to justify further failures of his party and to excuse future corruption. All of Goa is aware about the corrupt record of the Congress and this statement is no surprise," said Viegas.
"Goa is facing tremendous corruption under the BJP whether it is oxygen scam or the massive jobs scam spanning multiple ministries and departments. Many Goan youth have lost their future due to the massive corruption in job allocation with ministers demanding lakhs of rupees for jobs. During the second wave many Goenkars lost their lives due to lack of oxygen due to corruption and a scam on oxygen supply.
"AAP has put in mechanisms and systems in place to prevent any corruption and disruption to the lives of the common man. And if we can do this in Delhi there is no reason why we can't do this in Goa," said Viegas.
"AAP has put in many schemes to prevent corruption. All Sardinha has to do is study them," said AAP Goa Sr VP Domnic Gaonkar. "AAP has created a faceless RTO and doorstep delivery of services that has got rid of middlemen and aims at ending the ration mafia. AAP is the only govt in India that built a flyover at 100 crore below the budgeted amount," added Gaonkar.
"I cordially invite Sardinha to fly to Delhi. I will arrange his ticket and will personally accompany him to study Kejriwal's corruption-free model," added Viegas.
