The road at Adpai village in Ponda is too narrow. Hence vehicular traffic gets disrupted on most occasions. Whenever private cars and buses proceed in opposite directions, there is absolutely no way for two-wheelers and pedestrians to proceed along the road. Especially at sharp turns like the one at ‘Dessai-Bhat’ and the other at ‘Kumne Bhat’, the situation worsens to a great extent. What worsens the existing situation is the practice of parking four-wheelers along the roadside on regular basis. Elected representatives at the local village panchayat viz the VP of Adpai-Durbhat residing at this jurisdiction often overlook this serious matter. In the process, the public are the ultimate sufferers. In fact, there is enough space available behind the Goa State Co-operative Bank Ltd along the Adpai jetty where four-wheelers can be parked with ease. Elected representatives at this VP should instruct the local vehicle owners to stop parking vehicles on the road. Those not cooperating should be penalised accordingly. In case vehicles are parked along the Adpai jetty, difficulties faced by travellers and pedestrians would end once and for all. The local MLA Sudin Dhavalikar needs to levy a serious thought to the above suggestion and instruct the VP of Adpai-Durbhat to do the needful.
