The house of Lakshmi Sakharam Satoskar in Koniwada, Colvale has been damaged due to the collapse of the wall on Thursday. Due to this incident there is possibility of the collapse of entire house.
This incident happened around 2 pm on Thursday. The back wall of this house was waterlogged due to the heavy rain in the past few days. At this time Satoskar family was in the house, but luckily nobody was injured.
Upon receipt of the information about wall collapse, local panch member Ritesh Warkhandkar and Panchayat Talathi Sarvesh Phadte visited the site and inspected it. As the entire house was on the verge of collapse, Talathi Phadte advised the family to move to a safer place. He also submitted a report of this incident to the office of Mamlatdar. But the Satoskar family refused to move out of the house.
Late in the evening, Sarpanch Dashrath Bicholkar, former MLA Kiran Kandolkar, Panch Warkhandkar, Talathi Phadte and Colwale Police Sub-Inspector Subhash Gawkar met the family and convinced them to shift to a safer place. Thereafter some members of the family took shelter in the house of relatives while for some arrangement was made in rented rooms.
Since this house was on the verge of collapse, the Satoskar family had sought permission from Mamlatdar to repair the house before before the verdict of Kul Mundkar case... But this permission was not granted to them as a result the wall of the house collapsed during rains and the family rendered homeless. The government should look into this issue and provide shelter to the Sotoskar family, Panch Ritesh Warkhandkar demanded.
Meanwhile, if the Deputy Collector or Mamlatdar does not allow the Satoskar family to repair their house by Friday, July 19, the residents of Koniwada have decided that all the villagers will come together and build the victim's house.
