Section 10 of the Passports Act from 1967 says if a person has obtained a passport by suppressing important information, like not informing the passport officials about having citizenship in another country, then his/her passport can be revoked.
So, a new clause, which the circular highlights while referring to the Act, states that if someone got a passport (issued or re-issued) by not telling the government that they have citizenship in another country, even if they never used the passport to travel, it can be revoked. This is because the Indian law doesn’t allow people to have citizenship in two or more countries at the same time, and if a person had got the passport by hiding that fact, it’s a legal offense.
