Will give evidence to panel probing job scam: Babush

PANAJI

BJP’s Panaji MLA Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate has said he would submit evidence about the alleged scam in recruitments of PWD engineers, if directed by the vigilance committee.
"The vigilance inquiry is going on. Let them call me and we will give evidence. We have made noise, so obviously the inquiry committee should come to us for evidence,” said Monserrate while speaking to the media.
In the second week of December, Monserrate had alleged a job scam in the PWD to the tune of Rs 70 crore. PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar has, however, refuted all allegations as false and baseless.
Following Monserrate’s allegations, objections from political parties and public outcry, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant kept the recruitment process on hold and ordered an inquiry in the matter.
A panel headed by the chief secretary is conducting an inquiry in the matter.
