Congress Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Phaldesai on Monday said he is in process of preparing a detailed beautification plan of Old Goa and said he would submit it to the government for implementation.
"We are preparing a detailed beautification plan of Old Goa with the help of experts in the field. The plan will be soon completed and I will then submit the plan in person to Union Minister for State of Tourism Shripad Naik and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte with a demand to implement it,” Phaldesai told reporters.
Phaldesai said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had assured to construct a flyover at the Gaundalim railway junction.
Meanwhile Phaldesai reiterated his opposition to the Bainguinim garbage treatment plant and said he would work to ensure the plant is never set up in the area.
“We have the archaeologically important churches in the area beside a residential colony and a Muth in the area. The proposed garbage treatment plant will create problems for the area,” said Phaldesai.
