Woman's jewellery snatched in daylight robbery at Mala

In a daylight robbery, an unidentified person snatched gold jewellery worth Rs 1.90 lakh approx from an elderly woman at Mala on Friday afternoon.

According to Panaji police, Janvi Lotlikar complained that an unidentified male snatched a gold chain and a gold bangle from her mother-in-law Vijayabai Lotlikar. The gold chain, which included a gold locket of 'Ganesh', weighed 48 gms while the bangle weighed 20 gms.

"The suspect was riding a white scooter. He had a strong build and dark complexion, and was wearing a green short-sleeved shirt and dark long pants at the time of the incident," the police said, quoting the complaint copy. The police have registered a First Information Report and launched a search for the accused.
