Youth Congress irked over incomplete power cabling work in Cortalim

Cortalim Youth Congress Committee (CYCC) members came on the streets on Saturday to accuse the PWD of failing to complete the roadwork which had been dug for the underground electricity cabling work, causing inconvenience to residents of Cortalim.
CYCC President Peter Fernandes President said the people of Cortalim were frustrated because of the incomplete work carried out in Cortalim.
" The entire stretch is dusty and has cause problems to people residing near the 1km stretch which has been dug by the electricity department," said Fernandes.
Another member, Jason Silveria, criticised the Cortalim Panchayat for failing to address the issue.
"The sarpanch and panch members travel on this road daily. Christmas is fast approaching and villagers of Cortalim cannot even start with painting or decoration works due to dust which has settled on their houses," said Silveira.
Cortalim Congress leader Olencio Simoes said the government had begun the work in 2020 for underground cabling of the 11KV High Tension power supply in Sancoale, Cortalim and Quelossim, to ease the frequent power failure in the entire constituency.
