A youth from Yawatmal-Maharashtra has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel at Morjim.
According to sources, a group from Satara-Maharashtra had gone on a picnic to Morjim and were staying in a hotel. On December 14, the accused, Shubham Bali (25), entered the woman’s room while she was asleep and sexually assaulted her against her will. The accused then fled away from the room after taking the advantage of darkness.
Acting on a complaint from the woman, Pernem police summoned all persons in the group and recorded their statements before arresting Bali for the crime.
