Expressing confidence over winning both North and South Goa Lok Sabha seats with complete majority, BJP State Chief Sadanand Tanavade said that the process to select the candidates will begin in January, next month.
“In democracy everyone has a right to ask for a party ticket but just by making claims before the media or press, one won’t get a ticket. The tickets are decided by the party's parliamentary board,” he said, referring to recent statements by some senior BJP leaders.
Tanavade said that with elections likely to take place in March-April, the process to select the candidates will begin in January. “The names of the candidates would be declared once election dates are announced,” he said.
He said that for the upcoming LS polls, the party intends to increase its vote share, which was 51 per cent in 2019.
