A confrontation between a group of new constable recruits from Goa and four commandos, purportedly from Delhi, has come to the fore.
The exact cause of the fight where the commandos, who hid their identity by wearing face masks, remains unknown. Sources said that the presence of Goan liquor may have been a contributing factor.
Sources further suggest that various internal issues could have played a role and there are also speculations that the Delhi commandos, who are currently undergoing refresher training, may have been displaying a sense of superiority.
The fight was to an extent that the commandos attacked the Goan recruits with iron rods, leading to injuries on their hands and face.
Ironically, the recruits reportedly claimed to have slipped in the bathroom during an informal inquiry by Goa Police, while in Delhi, it appears that the matter has been deliberately ignored.
